I am Justin Praise Verrat Morris, II
From the shores of Liberia, West Africa, to Vanderbilt University and beyond, I’m a wild dreamer, a Christian grounded in his faith, a bridge builder inspired by connection, and a storyteller captivated by life’s unfolding chapters. I am a student, a woodworker, a science enthusiast, and above all, a person whose life borders on meaning and fulfillment.
Guided by principles rooted in faith, love, and a profound sense of belonging, I’ve sought to construct a life where relationships and purpose intersect, authenticity and vulnerability are embraced, and differing perspectives coexist. Whether in friendships, workplaces, or communities I serve, I’ve been privileged to embody and share these values, revel in the enduring moments of joy, and drive an impactful journey. My professional experience spans roles as an administrator, scientific researcher, instructor, and innovator—all paths that have deepened my commitment to constructing an architecture of belonging and welcoming the world to my shores.
Through this blog, I invite you to step into my world—to see life through the lenses of my experiences and perspectives. You’ll find stories, reflections, poetry, and op-eds that weave together my journey and aspirations, my vulnerabilities and struggles, and my deliberate decision to keep living. I’d encourage you to explore the picturesque page, where I share glimpses of the places I’ve been, the remarkable people I’ve met, and the community that shapes and supports me on this incredible journey.
I wish you a happy read and exploration and hope you find solace and hope everywhere on this site.
